2020 Tech Summer Camps Cancelled

It is with great sadness that we must announce that the Summer 2020 Tech Camps will be cancelled due to the pandemic. We had such a great summer last year and the kids had a great time learning skills in various trades.

It is our plan to start them up again for the Summer of 2021. We hope to see you then.

I also want to update our Principal's message... (We currently don't have one):https://srvrtc.sau6.org/principal_s_message2

The Sugar River Valley Regional Technical Center (SRVRTC or “the Tech”) Staff would like to welcome you back to school.  The Tech Center is an invaluable resource to the surrounding community.  Students who graduate our programs while attending High School are highly sought after by regional companies for their professional level of job skills.

The SRVRTC has five programs in Claremont and seven programs in Newport to choose from.

SRVRTC – Claremont                                      SRVTC - Newport

Plumbing /HVAC                                              Welding Technology

Building Construction                                     Cosmetology

Computerized Accounting                            Health Science Technology / LNA

Culinary Arts                                                      Marketing Retail / Business Management

Machine Tool Technology                            Natural Resource / Forestry

Engineering 1 & 2                                             Horticulture / Life Science

                                                                                Automotive

The Tech Center offers an accredited curriculum that teaches students technical skills using the hands, mind and heart.  Students learn from work related skills through the use of expert instruction and hands on application in our labs.  Through our efforts to give back learned skills to the region, through community service, we engage and teach the heart.  The result being an engaged and skilled citizen that cares about their community.

Getting into the Tech is easy.  See a School Counselor on how students can get in.  The Tech Center is an extension of Stevens High School and applies the same student code of conduct.  The programs operate with expectations much like a place of work.  We expect students to arrive on time, communicate effectively, apply themselves in class and follow the student conduct code.  Our staff works hard to keep our students engaged and give them the skills they need to be successful.

Your education at the Tech Center will yield great results if you invest the time and energy into the program.  We wish you all the best in this upcoming year and we look forward to see you at the Tech!

Sincerely,

Dr. Alex J Herzog Ed.D.
