Project Lead the Way

Project Lead the WayLeadership Club: SkillsUSA

PLTW is a multi-year sequence of courses which, when combined with college preparatory mathematics and science courses in high school, introduces students to the scope, rigor and discipline of engineering and engineering technology. Students will be able to model problem solving methods in the computer design of a variety of projects. They will learn essential computer drafting skills and be able to design, model, and animate engineering projects using three-dimensional modeling software.

Also covered is the history of engineering and how engineering has been influenced through research, group work, and presentations. Students will use binary truth tables, Boolean expressions and computer simulation software to design and test digital circuitry prior to the actual construction of bread boarded circuits and devices.

Juniors and Seniors in the program can choose from a selection of Capstone courses where they can become skilled in areas such as Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) and Residential Architecture.
